BIO
Born 1967 in Dublin, Susan trained at the National College of Art & Design and is currently working from Susan Buttner Gallery & Studio in Clonee, Dublin.In her latest body of work the artist is inspired by her ongoing exploration of rural physical and psychological containment of space. The artist is interested in the point where man and the rural environment co-exist. A space where time is suspended in purity and stillness, creating the scene for poetic possibility. The compositions are geometric and linear, houses and outbuildings take on block form, fields become abstract shapes, tonal balance and colour add to the duality of her works.The artists new works -Pure and Still- have been well received by investors and the general public. Susan’s work is held in Corporate and Private collections in Ireland, Britain, throughout Europe and the USA.Public Collection: OPW , Department of Defence, Phoenix Park.Additional works by the artist, can be seen at : Gallery Zozimus, Lyndsay Gallery, Kilternan Gallery, Kenny’s Gallery, Blueberry Gallery and Manor Fine Arts Gallery.
