A regular visitor to the Phoenix Park, the artist loves to paint outdoors, her fascination with the Guinness Family workers cottages is self evident and they figure prominently in her work. The gate houses with their timeless elegance, the polo and cricket grounds, all particular favourites of the artist, are delightfully captured on canvass nestling in their lush green surroundings.

The figurative paintings are entitled "Christine". Working with a close circle of artists, Susan spends the summer months in the studio painting and talking well into the wee hours! The use of broad brush strokes exude the pleasure the artist feels when doing figurative work. Painting with frenetic energy, the limited palette used engages the viewer, as the artist strives to capture the raw essence of her models.
Series one includes the artist fondness of our cities Georgian Buildings. St Stephens Green, through to Merrion Square up to Grand Canal, skilfully painted using a warm palette of colours, Cobalt blues, slate greys and brick reds all combine conjuring up wonderful images of Irish Georgian Architecture.
The sea scapes are painted around the Irish Coast line and in Dublin. Susan is especially fond of the low tide views at Sutton and Howth, with their shifting sands and trapped ribbons of sea water, all beautifully captured by the artist evoking a sense of calm and contentment.
